Holy Spirit International Ministry began working in the Dominican Republic village of El Llano in November 2002 with Sr. Roselyn Nichols and Dr. Angel Valdez. In 2006, the pair began working with the Sisters of Charity in the town of Las Matas. Through working with Sr. Nichols and Dr. Valdez, Building Bridges of Hope aims to support those most in need in the Dominican Republic, while providing volunteers an experience they can't get anywhere else.
Building Bridges of Hope has also recently formed a partnership with Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., which has started sending interested students to the Dominican Republic as part of a fall break and summer service-learning trip. Learn more about the Aquinas College program >>
Our missionary activities shall provide relief to the poor and destitute of the world by:
• Proclaiming the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as taught by the Catholic Christian faith
• Providing training and systems of empowerment to the poor and impovershed
• Supporting foreign organizations that have a purpose substaintially similar to our purpose
• Sending missionaries throughout the world
